Last Class of EDU 315
Today was our last class and we presented a tech showcase. Everyone was split into groups and we each presented a different skill. I felt as if I learned alot today by just viewing what everyone had to share. I also liked the amino video we created, everyone seemed to do a holiday theme and I think it cheered everyone up!

ESCHOOLNEWS Reading
When I was looking through the eschoolnews websites I found an article that caught my eye! This article was called, Teachers Use Website to Showcase Student Art. This article contained information about teachers using websites to display their students work for others to see, such as their family members, friends and so on. I think this is a very affective way of getting the parents involved in their children's school work. Not only for the families that are not around but also for the families that are around. Because sometimes parents are too busy to come to the school and see their child's work or talk to the teacher about their child's progress. This article said that the children liked having their work on the website. It was sort of like a motivation booster for the children because they had to do their best if they knew it was going to be posted! Overall I think it is a great idea and i'm glad i came across this article, because once I become a teacher maybe i can do something similar and along those lines. There is nothing better than to get your students motivated, make them feel good about accomplished, and lastly sharing it with their loved ones!
Taskstream :11/28
Today we learned how to upload our task steam and submit it to our teacher. I learned many new skills in the process of this. Although it seemed difficult once Lajoie demonstrated on the big screen how this was done i think we all got the hang of it. Now while we upload things to Taskstream we will now how to properly submit our work. We also learned how to cancel submission which was helpful also incase we were to make a mistake on our final portfolio.
My Last Field Observation
The wednesday before Thanksgiving break I observed for the last time. Though I was glad to get my hours over with it I was upset that I wouldn't be returning to Ms. Sclafani's classroom anymore. Due to my last visit, she had me read a book to the classroom while they sat on the rug. I liked doing this because it made me feel a sense of classroom community. After I read the book I asked the student's questions on what they thought and any extra opinions they had towards the reading. I gained alot of experience from helping in Ms. Sclafani's third grade classroom. I look foward to what the future brings.

Voice thread
Today in class we are learning how to do a voice thread. I think it will be interesting integrating my voice within a lesson. I could use this for my classroom in the future, I think students would really enjoy this. I am excited to learn new skills due to this project and become stronger in my computer skills. While learning new tasks I can become better prepared for when I have to operate things like these on my own in the future.

Our i Movie
The other day in class i enjoyed making the i Movie with my group. We actually used the munchkins that were handed out in class to make it more of a Halloween theme, and in our movie me and another member were " The Mysterious Munchkin Bandits" We had a lot of fun while recording our scenes. I liked how even if you messed up from time to time you could edit it through the computer and make it how you wanted it to be. My group and I also added cool sound effects that made our movie better! I would love to do things like that more often.

Todays Class' New Technology 10-24
Today during class we learned how to use a video camera and upload photos and videos to the computer. I was interested in this because now I know how to better use " Imovie"I am not too good with technology and I liked how we were walked through what to do. I think the Imovie project should be fun and challenging at the same time. I am excited to get the opportunity to use new technology skills and learn more while doing it.

My teaching plan
I think blogging is a great idea to stay connected to your peers and also keep reminders to yourself on what you have learned! When learning a new task, reading a new article, or even coming across any exciting news, blogging about it is a fun thing to do. When I become a teacher I plan to use a blog for my students. I think I would ask them to use it in the form of journal entries. They could write first in a notebook and then type it into their blog for others to see and comment on. Every one of the students could go about their classmates blogs and write what they think. This is a reasonable and different way to get out your feelings, opinions, facts and or other things, and gain feedback or just a simple comment from your peers and teacher.

Field experience so far
My host teacher uses many technological devices. The first day I observed I noticed he put on a head set. I asked what the head set was for and he told me it was so that the students could better understand what he was saying. Also it was especially for the students who struggled with auditory learning. Another form of technology Mr. Jones presented in the classroom was the smart board. He would put assignments/questions/ and activities on the smart board and the students would participate while using the smart board as well. When the students were asked to come up to answer a question on the board they would use a tennis ball to right because Mr. Jones thought it was easier, plus it was cool!
I think I gained a lot of knowledge so far from my host teacher. While Mr. Jones was reading aloud " Shiloh" in a circle to the class, when students got loud and into discussion Mr Jones would announce a phrase in a higher voice than others saying " 3,2,1" and the children would know it was time to stop talking and time to follow on with the reading. Although it was such a simple task he presented, it worked and I will probably try and carry that on to my future teaching or something along those lines.

Todays class 10/3/11
Today in the beginning of class one of the " smart group" groups presented their projects. After their presentation I learned many things I don't think I would have. They shared how they conducted their presentation. They added a clip of music to their " waiting time" when they asked the class a question. I liked how the song also tied in with the theme of the lesson. So today I learned how to add a song clip and i think it will be beneficial to me in this class.

Whats next to come
The other day in Social curriculum ( Mosher) class we learned about how we were doing a joint project with Shufang and Mosher having to do with heros.I picked Rosa Parks. One will be a digital story book and the other will be the outline for it and the standards and such.I am curious as to how we will create the digital story and am excited about learning how to conduct it, not so excited about the lesson plan outline part!

Week 5 ( New technology)
Today in class we learned how to do a lot of different things. We learned how to add standards into documents that we place on our taskstream, at first it seemed difficult then I got the hang of how to insert a standard. Also, another thing we learned about that I was not familiar with was how to use the smart board. We got to play around with it and draw things. I liked doing that because it made me feel more comfortable with that form of technology that I had never used before. Now I will have more knowledge about it when my group and I have to complete the smart board project.
Racquette Lake
Last week we went to Racquette lake and we all had a lot of fun. Before I went I didn't think I would have any fun at all. We did a lot of team building activities that made me feel more comfortable around other members of the class. My favorite thing about the trip was that it brought me closer to my classmates in a way that I wouldn't have been if it weren't for Racquette lake.

Reflection on the Engage video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_A-ZVCjfWf8
This was the video I watched on the schedule under the readings that we also saw in class. This video really inspired me. It showed that students really want to learn in every way possible. I like how each student held up a sign and didnt speak. It made me really pay attention and read what each sign said. When I become a teacher I definetelly will keep this video in mind because it has alot of messages involved in it.
