Todays Class' New Technology 10-24
Today during class we learned how to use a video camera and upload photos and videos to the computer. I was interested in this because now I know how to better use " Imovie"I am not too good with technology and I liked how we were walked through what to do. I think the Imovie project should be fun and challenging at the same time. I am excited to get the opportunity to use new technology skills and learn more while doing it.

My teaching plan
I think blogging is a great idea to stay connected to your peers and also keep reminders to yourself on what you have learned! When learning a new task, reading a new article, or even coming across any exciting news, blogging about it is a fun thing to do. When I become a teacher I plan to use a blog for my students. I think I would ask them to use it in the form of journal entries. They could write first in a notebook and then type it into their blog for others to see and comment on. Every one of the students could go about their classmates blogs and write what they think. This is a reasonable and different way to get out your feelings, opinions, facts and or other things, and gain feedback or just a simple comment from your peers and teacher.

ESCHOOLNEWS Reading
When I was looking through the eschoolnews websites I found an article that caught my eye! This article was called, Teachers Use Website to Showcase Student Art. This article contained information about teachers using websites to display their students work for others to see, such as their family members, friends and so on. I think this is a very affective way of getting the parents involved in their children's school work. Not only for the families that are not around but also for the families that are around. Because sometimes parents are too busy to come to the school and see their child's work or talk to the teacher about their child's progress. This article said that the children liked having their work on the website. It was sort of like a motivation booster for the children because they had to do their best if they knew it was going to be posted! Overall I think it is a great idea and i'm glad i came across this article, because once I become a teacher maybe i can do something similar and along those lines. There is nothing better than to get your students motivated, make them feel good about accomplished, and lastly sharing it with their loved ones!

Field experience so far
My host teacher uses many technological devices. The first day I observed I noticed he put on a head set. I asked what the head set was for and he told me it was so that the students could better understand what he was saying. Also it was especially for the students who struggled with auditory learning. Another form of technology Mr. Jones presented in the classroom was the smart board. He would put assignments/questions/ and activities on the smart board and the students would participate while using the smart board as well. When the students were asked to come up to answer a question on the board they would use a tennis ball to right because Mr. Jones thought it was easier, plus it was cool!
I think I gained a lot of knowledge so far from my host teacher. While Mr. Jones was reading aloud " Shiloh" in a circle to the class, when students got loud and into discussion Mr Jones would announce a phrase in a higher voice than others saying " 3,2,1" and the children would know it was time to stop talking and time to follow on with the reading. Although it was such a simple task he presented, it worked and I will probably try and carry that on to my future teaching or something along those lines.

Todays class 10/3/11
Today in the beginning of class one of the " smart group" groups presented their projects. After their presentation I learned many things I don't think I would have. They shared how they conducted their presentation. They added a clip of music to their " waiting time" when they asked the class a question. I liked how the song also tied in with the theme of the lesson. So today I learned how to add a song clip and i think it will be beneficial to me in this class.
